  • The supply of retail space in Phnom Penh increases.
  • Sihanoukville becomes less attractive to the European travelers.

The supply of retail space in Phnom Penh would be doubled by year-end, mainly by the opening of community malls. In this context, the 1.3-hectare WB Arena which is a riverfront complex with the total investment of US $10 million will be inaugurated by November 2018, providing a retail hub with 90 stalls, a 400-seat theatre, F&B outlets, and various leisure facilities.

WB Arena will open by November 2018

In Sihanoukville, mass construction of tourism infrastructure and the Chinese visitors’ invasion are making this coastal province to fall off the radar of the European travelers. It is reported that 70% of international flights to Sihanoukville are from China, and many of new hotels, resorts, and condominiums here are being developed by the Chinese. In Siem Reap, the 112-key Ibis Styles Siem Reap will open by June 2018 as the first Ibis Styles in Cambodia.
