  • AccorHotels reaches the agreement with Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.
  • HNA Group will sell about 63 million shares of Hilton common stock.

 

AccorHotels has agreed to acquire Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in a US $567 million deal that should be completed in 2H 2018. Previously, AccorHotels announced to a 50%stake Mantis Group as part of its expansion plans in Africa, while signing an MOU with China’s Ctrip.com International Ltd which would allow Ctrip’s over 300 million registered users to access and enjoy personalized experience from its portfolio of global brands.

In another context, HNA Group will sell about 63 million shares of Hilton common stock, making good on signals it would exit its stake in this U.S. hotel operator. Meanwhile, Marriott International has released rules for a new loyalty program which will combine Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards, and Starwood Preferred Guest beginning in August 2018.
